Adding an IPP Printer to Windows Vista

Open the Add Printer Wizard by going to the Printers panel in the Control Panel and clicking the "Add a printer" button.

Click "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer".

Click the "The printer that I wannt isn’t listed" button.

Click on "Select a shared printer by name" and set the address to "http://print.ccs.neu.edu:631/printers/printer". Replace "printer" with the printer that you want to print to, in this case we replaced it with okeefe. Click Next.

The Wizard will prompt you to select a driver for your printer. In most cases we will be using a HP printer, so select the "HP LaserJet Family Driver PCL5" from the available drivers.

Click the "Set as the default printer" box if you want to set it as your default. Click Next.

If all went well, you should see this window. Printing a test page is option, clicking Finish to complete the wizard.

Bring up the properties for the printer that you just added by right-clicking it in the Printers Control Panel.

In the properties window, click on the "Device Settings" tab. Click on the combo box next to "Duplex Unit" and click on Installed. Click OK to apply the changes.

While working on a document, open up File > Print. Click on the preferences button to bring up the printer preferences.

Click on the "Print On Both Sides" checkbox to enable duplexing. Click OK and you should now be able to print double sided documents.
