Managed Software Request Form

Members of the College of Computer and Information Science can use this form to request a software package installed in the Managed CCIS Environment.

What is the purpose of this software?*

Is this a request for Windows 7 or Ubuntu Linux software?*
Do you require this package to be installed on all managed CCIS machines, or just your own?*
Packages installation requests for single machines generally take far less time to process than packages for the entire managed environment.
What is the hostname of your managed machine?*
Usually on a white label attached to the front of the machine. If this label is missing please contact systems if you don't know what your hostname is.
Does this software package require a serial number?*

Does the License agreement for this software package allow us to deploy this software on all machines in our environment with this serial number?*
If you answer no, Systems will not be able to install this software on all machines in our environment. Please be sure to adhere to your license agreement for software compliance!
Have you already downloaded the Windows software?*
If answering Yes: Please reply to the request tracker ticket issued to you when finishing this form and attach the software requested. If the software package is large please note that and we will get it from you in person.

Please note: Systems will not create an account to download software. If an account is required you must download it yourself and have the software available for installation.
Is the package you would like installed available from our apt repositories?*
Our Ubuntu machines are configured to have access to repositories containing a wide array of software pre-packaged for easy install by the Ubuntu Project and other organizations. You can search the software available from these repositories by using the "apt-cache" command on any of our managed Linux machines. eg: "apt-cache search firefox" to see if Mozilla Firefox is available for install. Use of apt-cache does not require sudo credentials.
